By: Watford FC Staff

Ahead of Southampton v Watford on Saturday (April 13, 3pm KO), we take a look at all the stats, facts and figures surrounding the Sky Bet Championship clash.

Previous Meetings

Southampton have lost just two of their last 16 league meetings with Watford (W7 D7) but did lose 2-1 the last time they hosted the Hornets in March 2022 in the Premier League.

Watford are winless in their three matches against Southampton in all competitions this season (D2 L1) – the last team the Hornets faced four times in one season without winning was Sheffield United in 1989/90.

The Golden Boys have lost three of their last five league games against Southampton but are unbeaten in the last two against the Saints (W1 D1).

Recent Form

Southampton have won 23 league games and scored 78 goals this season, both their best tallies in a campaign since 2011/12 (26 wins, 85 goals).

Watford have drawn each of their last four Championship games; they haven’t had a longer such run in the Football League since a run of seven in the Championship in March 2008.

The Saints have lost four of their last 10 Championship games (W4 D2), as many as in their first 30 games of the competition this season (W19 D7).

Opposition Stat Attack

Che Adams has scored four goals in his last seven Championship appearances for Southampton – Adams netted the Saints’ goal against the Hornets earlier this season in a 1-1 draw.

Adam Armstrong leads the Saints’ scoring charts for the season, grabbing 20 goals. He has also provided the most assists (11), and is joint with Gavin Bazunu for the most appearances (40).

At the back, Jan Bednarek leads the way for clearances (131), blocks (33) and interceptions (54), while full-back Kyle Walker-Peters has won the most fouls (74) and attempted the most tackles (58).

The Saints have scored the third-most goals (78) in the league, and like to leave it late. They have scored more goals (21) between the 76th and 90th minute compared to any other 15-minute period.
