Previous Meetings

Watford are looking to complete a league double over Preston North End for just the second time, also doing so in 2020/21.

Watford are unbeaten in their last five league games against Preston (W3 D2) since a 3-1 away defeat on the final day of the 2010/11 Championship season.

The home side have only lost twice in the last 14 league meetings between these two sides, with Watford recording a 1-0 away win at Preston in February 2021 and winning the reverse meeting at Deepdale this season 5-1.

Recent Form

Only Huddersfield (16) have drawn more Championship games this season than Watford (14), with the Hornets drawing on each of their last two outings.

Watford are without a win in their last 10 league games at Vicarage Road (D4 L6), though have only failed to score in just one of their previous 17 league matches there; a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City in February.

Only Ipswich (23) and Southampton (20) have scored more goals via substitutes in the Championship this season than Watford (13).

Opposition Stat Attack

Preston have lost two of their last four league matches (W2), having only lost one of their previous nine (W5 D3).

Preston’s 1-0 loss to Birmingham last time out ended a run of four successive away league games unbeaten (W3 D1); they haven’t failed to score in successive away league matches since November/December.

Since a 3-2 win over Coventry in November, Preston are without a win in nine league games in which they’ve conceded the opening goal (D2 L7).
