By: Watford FC Staff

Ahead of Watford v Hull City on Saturday (April 20, 3pm KO), we take a look at all the stats, facts and figures surrounding the Sky Bet Championship clash.

Previous Meetings

Watford are looking to beat Hull home and away in the same Football League season for the first time since 1988/89 in the second tier following their 2-1 away win in December.

Watford have kept a clean sheet in each of their last two home Football League games against Hull; they’ve never done so in three successive such games before.

Watford have won just one of their last five home league games against Hull City (D2 L2), failing to score more than one goal in any of those outings.

Recent Form

Watford have lost just one of their six league games under Tom Cleverley (W1 D4), keeping clean sheets in three of those six matches.

No defender has scored more goals in the Championship in 2024 than Watford’s Ryan Porteous (3), with all three goals coming since the beginning of March.

Hull have won five of their last seven away league games (D1 L1). They’ve won 10 league matches on the road in 2023/24, only winning more in a second-tier season in 2012/13 (11).

Opposition Stat Attack

Hull City are a strong side on the ball, with an overall pass completion rate of 86 per cent, ranking third in the Championship.

The Tigers tend to be good going forward, ranking in the league’s top eight for average goals per game (1.48), big chance conversion rate (43.7 per cent), percentage of all shots on target (50.6 per cent) and penalty goals (3).

Jaden Philogene has been causing opposition defences problems all year, leading his side in goals scored (11), dribbles attempted (161) and fouls won (55).

Defensively, Jacob Greaves has had a standout year with his side’s most clearances (174) and interceptions (41), joint with skipper Lewie Coyle. The 23-year old isn’t scared of getting stuck in, picking up 11 yellow cards, also a team high.
