By: Watford FC Staff

Following their November Premier League meeting the Hornets and Leicester City clash once again on Saturday (December 8, 3pm KO), this time in the Emirates FA Cup at the King Power Stadium.

Ahead of the hotly-anticipated encounter, we take a statistical preview at some of the figures surrounding the match.

Previous Meetings

Watford last faced Leicester City in the FA Cup in February 1982 during a fifth round clash, with the Foxes coming out on top 2-0 at Filbert Street.

Watford have been eliminated in all three of their previous FA Cup ties with the Foxes, losing in 1909 (following a replay), 1936 and 1982.

The Holders

The home side come into the match as holders after winning the competition for the first time in their history against Chelsea last May.

In only one of the last nine seasons have the holders gone out in the third round of the FA Cup (Arsenal against Nottingham Forest in 2017/18).

The last time the Golden Boys faced the holders of the FA Cup was against Arsenal in the 2015/16 season, with Watford coming out on top 2-1 en route to the semi-finals that campaign.

Key Players

Jamie Vardy (nine) and Emmanuel Dennis (eight) are the top goalscorers for the Foxes and Watford respectively.

Nigeria international Dennis is top of Watford’s assists rankings with five, while his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho has four for the Foxes.

Wilfred Ndidi leads the way with the most tackles for City (47), with Juraj Kucka topping the Hornets’ bill with 39.
