Reaction: Kayembe’s Post-Blackburn Thoughts

By: Watford FC Staff

Edo Kayembe spoke to watfordfc.com following Sunday’s (August 27) 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Vicarage Road, with the Hornets suffering back-to-back defeats in their Sky Bet Championship campaign.

Read the midfielder’s thoughts below…

These things happen in football. We were in the game and we controlled the game. We created a lot of chances to score, but they took one and punished us. We will continue working and we will have to forget this one and get ready for the next game.

This is my first 90 minutes after seven months out. I’m happy to be back and I hope to continue. I’ve come back and I have to get used to the feeling of playing. It’s been a long time since I played 90 minutes and I’m coming back slowly. I want to continue to keep playing and then I’ll be fine.

The manager asked me to control the game and try to cover the centre-backs. He wanted me to keep the ball under pressure and keep playing normally.

We will have to learn from this result ahead of Coventry City [Saturday September 2, 3pm KO]. We need to keep working on the training ground and prepare for the next game. We need to score, we need to keep working and if we score, we will win the game.
