Reaction: Dele-Bashiru On Bristol City Draw

By: Watford FC Staff

Tom Dele-Bashiru spoke to watfordfc.com after his penalty was enough for the Hornets to earn a 1-1 draw away to Bristol City.

Watford’s first spot kick in more than a year was cooly converted by Dele-Bashiru to mark his second goal in three games, before Scott Twine drew the hosts level midway through the first half.

A tight second half saw neither team find a winner as Watford made it six games unbeaten on their travels.

Read what Dele-Bashiru had to say below:

It was a tough away game, they are very well-drilled, they press really well, so we knew we would have to dig in, work hard. It was an even result but we feel a bit disappointed to not get all three points.

We had our designated penalty takers, and I was confident that I would score the penalty.

It was alright, like I said I am confident in my penalty taking, so it was good to score.

As a midfielder, in this team especially, we thrive on scoring goals and for me personally I think I need to improve my numbers, get more goals so I am happy to start scoring some more goals.

I think over the last year or so our away record hasn’t been great so we are a bit more solid away from home now, we work hard for each other and work hard for the team. We are doing well and we are unbeaten in six games so we need to keep the record going.

Ben [Hamer] is very important to the team, he made some great saves in the game, it was a very good defensive effort from the boys, we all dug in in the second half, so it was good to get the point.

The fans are always excellent, they always follow us well, and they give us the support that we need especially in the second half when the game was getting difficult, so thank you to the fans.
