News: Livermore Presented With Harry Kane Commemorative Plaque

Watford midfielder Jake Livermore has been presented with a special plaque to recognise his contribution in helping England captain Harry Kane become the country’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Former Three Lions star Livermore received the special gift last week after featuring alongside Kane on three different occasions on the international stage - against Scotland, Malta and Slovakia during qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In two of the three matches Kane found the back of the net, with those strikes and 52 more inscribed at the bottom of the plaque, alongside a picture of the duo during an England clash.

Livermore and Kane enjoy a storied past having both featured for Tottenham in their youth, going on to play together 12 times on the pitch for club and country.

As a result, the 33-year-old believes there is little wonder why Kane has reached the top, enjoying privileged access of his fledgling career.

Livermore said: “I’m proud of him. He’s excellent and his record speaks for itself. He was always the hardest working, always finishing, loved finishing – you would have to pull him off the training pitch. He deserves everything that boy.”
