Young Watford goalkeepers Alfie Marriott and Myles Roberts have won the Player of the Month awards at their respective loan clubs.

Marriott, who is on a work experience loan at Kings Langley until January, picked up the award for his impressive performances in the Southern Premier League South Division, playing every game so far for the Hertfordshire side.

Roberts is currently with Concord Rangers in the Vanarama National League South, and had a fantastic month of August, keeping a clean sheet and making three penalty saves.

The Under-23 shot-stopper won Player of the Month with more than half of the vote, winning Man of the Match in a 1-0 win over Dorking on the opening day. Concord are currently third in the table and five points off Dartford at the top.

Despite a call-up to Scotland’s Under-21 squad, Dapo Mebude chose to continue playing club football with AFC Wimbledon, and played a key role in their first win at Plough Lane in over 30 years when they beat Oxford United 3-1.

In an interview with Wimbledon’s club website prior to the match, Mebude spoke of the atmosphere in his first game for the club, when he scored a crucial equaliser.

“It was the first game back with fans after 30 years, and it felt like 20,000 or 30,000 were there,” he said. “It was a great atmosphere and scoring in front of them was good. I have loved playing in front of the fans. We just need to impose our style on the opposition and see where it takes us.”

Mattie Pollock made his debut for EFL League One side Cheltenham last Tuesday. The defender featured in the Papa John’s Trophy, playing 75 minutes against Bristol Rovers. Pollock was an unused substitute in a 1-1 draw with MK Dons at the weekend, but could be in line for his league debut against Charlton Athletic.

Sonny Blu Lo-Everton impressed in front of the BT Sport cameras as Yeovil Town beat FC Halifax Town in the National League 1-0. Lo-Everton played in an attacking midfield role for the Glovers, who currently occupy 10th spot with a game in hand.
