Loan Watch: Forde Scores Late Goal To Snatch Point For Leyton Orient

Promising young forward Shaq Forde equalised at the death for Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening (October 24) to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw away at Northampton Town.

Following an early Rob Hunt goal that gave the O’s the lead, a Sam Hoskins brace meant the match was delicately poised at 2-1 to the Cobblers heading into the final half-hour.

With Northampton also having been reduced to 10 men, it was all set for Forde to make an impact, coming on from the bench with 22 minutes left to play in the Sky Bet League One encounter, replacing Aaron Drinan up top.

Deep into six minutes of stoppage time, Jordan Graham delivered a sharp ball into the box and Forde turned it goal-bound, beating the goalkeeper and wheeling away to celebrate his second goal for his temporary club.

With virtually no time left on the clock, the final whistle was soon blown confirming Forde’s contribution as pivotal for Leyton Orient – the London-based side are currently 12th in the third-tier.

Also in League One, Kwadwo Baah’s Burton Albion fell to a 2-1 defeat to Carlisle United (October 24). The winger - who had scored for the Brewers last time out - was unable to have a similar effect on proceedings before being substituted during the half-time interval.

Elsewhere, João Ferreira featured for 45 minutes during Udinese’s clash against Lecce (October 23) in the Italian top-flight, with the match ending 1-1.

Jorge Cabezas Hurtado made a late second-half cameo for New York Red Bulls in their MLS match against Nashville on Sunday (October 22), as the Colombian’s temporary side secured a 1-0 victory.
