FPL Watch: Watford's Goalscoring £5.0m Forwards

By: Watford FC Staff

Debut goalscorers Cucho Hernández and Emmanuel Dennis could prove to be budget differential options for Fantasy Premier League managers this season.

The Watford new boys scored six and 12 points respectively in GW1 and both looked promising in a 3-2 home win over Aston Villa despite their bargain in-game prices.

Hernández: £5.0m | 6pts

Hernández continued his strong pre-season form, in which he scored against Colchester United and impressed both as a striker and winger. Priced at just £5.0m on FPL, the Colombian could bag vital goals and assists without eating up too much of your budget. Scoring from range last Saturday – just 49 seconds into his debut off the bench – was no fluke, either, as his strikes in training have proven.

Dennis: £5.0m | 12pts

Dennis started at Vicarage Road on Saturday and opened his Watford account after just 10 minutes before notching an assist for Ismaïla Sarr later in the first-half. He earned three bonus points and his 12 points from GW1 make him the second-highest point-scoring forward so far, behind only Michail Antonio. Despite going off with an injury, the £5.0m Nigerian is expected to be available this weekend so keep an eye out for his positive link-up play with Sarr.

Xisco Muñoz will have another attacking option available to him this weekend, with forward Joshua King fit for the trip to Brighton.

Kiko Femenía may also be involved in Saturday's fixture and he notably linked up well with Sarr on the right-hand side last season, notching four assists.
