Fixtures: Further Changes Confirmed

By: Watford FC Staff

There have been some further alterations to Watford FC's provisional 2022/23 fixture list, first published last month.

Two of the changes affect the local derby fixtures, while there are other date & kick-off time changes.

With the full support of both clubs, police requests to move both of the derby fixtures between Watford and Luton Town in the Sky Bet EFL Championship this season have been approved by relevant authorities.

The Hornets will now host the Hatters at Vicarage Road on Sunday October 23, 12noon kick-off, with the return match at Kenilworth Road now scheduled for 12.30pm on Saturday April 1.

Both Watford FC and Luton Town FC will treat the safety of supporters from both clubs as top priority when it comes to these two eagerly-anticipated matchdays.

Further collaborative announcements will follow in due course, nearer to the time of tickets going on sale for the first of the two fixtures.

In another date change, Watford and Hull City have agreed to move their Vicarage Road fixture back 24 hours to avoid any potential clash with World Cup quarter-final ties. This match will now take place on Sunday December 11, 3pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, the Boxing Day home game against Millwall will start at 12noon. However, the pre-season friendly planned for Tuesday July 19 versus the Lions at The Den will now not take place. A replacement fixture for this date may soon be confirmed.

Sky Sports have not yet finalised all of their August UK live selections, so further amends are possible before August's fixture schedule is fully confirmed.
