Watford 4-1 Cardiff City - December 28, 2010

Watford closed in on the Championship play-off places with this big victory over a Cardiff side sitting second in the table.

Peter Whittingham had given the Welsh side the lead in this festive fixture after Danny Graham had missed a penalty for the Hornets.

Graham made amends with the equaliser in the 24th minute and Marvin Sordell's long-range effort put Watford in front in the second half.

John Eustace's header and a second penalty - this time scored by Graham - completed the win.

Cardiff City 2-4 Watford – December 28, 2014

Exactly four years after the 4-1, the Hornets put four past the Bluebirds again but this time at Cardiff City Stadium.

Adam Le Fondre's header gave the hosts the lead but Watford were in front at half-time thanks to Adlene Guedioura's volley and an Odion Ighalo header.

Guedioura then scored again with a stunning hit from range before a Gabriele Angella header made it four.

Kenwyne Jones provided a consolation for Cardiff but Watford took the points and moved up to fifth in the Championship.

Watford 3-2 Cardiff City – December 15, 2018

The first of only two Premier League meetings between the sides saw Watford claim a first win since October - with each of their three goals memorable.

A sublime individual run and finish from Gerard Deulofeu gave the Hornets the lead and Jose Holebas' excellent finish from outside the box made it 2-0.

Another superb strike from Domingos Quina had the Hornets cruising at 3-0 but late goals from Junior Hoilett and Bobby Reid made the ending more nervy than it should have been.

Cardiff City 1-5 Watford – February 22, 2019

The second and final Premier League meeting betwen the clubs saw Deulofeu score Watford's first top-flight hat-trick since 1986 as the Hornets ran riot in Wales.

After opening the scoring in the 18th minute, the Spaniard scored twice in quick succession in the second half.

Troy Deeney grabbed two goals of his own as Watford climbed to seventh place in the Premier League.

Sol Bamba scored a consolation for the hosts, who were struggling at the foot of the table.

Cardiff City 1-2 Watford - March 13, 2021
