Academy 1-100: Victor Wachowicz

By: Watford FC Staff

In the 1-100 series, our Young Hornets choose eight numbers between 1 and 100, answering questions that correspond to each specific digit.

Next to take on the questions is defender Victor Wachowicz.

The versatile 17-year-old joined the Golden Boys in July 2023, having previously featured at Beaconsfield Town. Adept at playing either full-back or centre-half, Wachowicz features for the Hornets’ Under-18s.

72 – What’s the one ground you haven’t played at that you would love the opportunity to do so?

I would have to say Old Trafford. Growing up, I used to watch a lot of Manchester United when Wayne Rooney was playing. I used to look up to them.

23 – What is the best place you’ve been to so far?

Iceland was a really nice country. The views are spectacular and some of the waterfalls are amazing.

6 – Which teammate would be best equipped for an all-you-can-eat type challenge?

Excluding myself because I think I’d be up there, I would say Josh Mullins.

27 – You must delete all social media accounts apart from one, which are you still using?

I’d probably keep Snapchat and remove the rest. Actually maybe I’ll keep TikTok. I’ve been on that quite a lot. It’s easy to spend hours on it.

62 – You’ve been told to meet someone at 7pm, what time are you actually getting there?

It depends. If it’s football meetings then I’m never late, but if it’s me and my mates I normally tend to be quite late. Maybe I’ll get there at 7.20pm!

99 – You’re able to have a conversation with anyone in history, who do you choose and why?

Probably Cristiano Ronaldo. His mentality is incredible so I think the conversation with him would be really good. I’d love to hear his thoughts.

30 – What is the one sporting profession you admire the most for what they go through?

I think people underestimate how hard it is to be a Formula One driver. F1 is a sport that I have been watching a lot recently and the speed of the cars and the g-force is incredible. The races are so long – the mental and physical endurance they have is crazy.

100 – Best thing about your country?

In Poland it’s Pierogi. My nan makes them and they’re amazing. They’re basically dumplings and you can get different types filled with dumplings.
