Watford FC initially signed Gerard Deulofeu on loan from FC Barcelona in January 2017, before making the move permanent in June 2018, with the Hornets tying down the former Barça man on a five-year deal.
The forward played seven times during his loan spell at the club, scoring one goal and assisting another in the Golden Boys' 4-1 home win over Chelsea.
After signing permanently the forward made 33 appearances in 2018/19, scoring 12 goals as he adapted to a new central striking role.
His finest moment of the 2018/19 season came in the FA Cup semi-final win against Wolves. The Spaniard came off the bench in the 66th minute with Watford trailing 2-0. His two goals along with a Troy Deeney penalty helped Watford to one of the cup’s greatest comebacks, and a historic win for the club. He was subsequently awarded Watford's Goal of the Season award for the first of his two strikes in the game.
An exciting winger who can play off either flank, Deulofeu has Premier League experience from two spells on Merseyside with Everton, originally on loan for the 2013/2014 season, and then for a further two-year permanent stint between 2015 and 2017.
Deulofeu, who has also taken in loans at Sevilla and AC Milan, graduated from Barça's famed La Masia Academy, making his debut for the club aged just 17. He made 24 appearances for his parent club between his various loan stints, scoring twice.
A well-decorated youth cap, he made his full debut for the Spanish national team in 2014 in a friendly against Bolivia.
