Wales Under-19 international defender George Abbott joined Watford’s Academy in 2016.
The youngster appeared for the first-team during the 2021/22 pre-season, against the likes of West Bromwich Albion, Brentford and Arsenal, and in 2022 signed his first professional contract with the Hornets.
Since the start of the 2022/23 season, Abbott has regularly captained the Under-21 side from centre-half, whilst also scoring against Everton in the FA Youth Cup.
A Welsh youth international, Abbott captained Wales’ Under-19 side during a fixture against Scotland in March 2023.
In July 2023, he signed a new one-year deal with the club with the option of an additional year.
Abbott played for National League South side Chippenham Town and Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Potters Bar Town during short loan spells in the 2023/24 season.
