English and Australian youth prospect Aidan Coyne joined Watford’s Under-21 side in November 2022 on a deal until the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign, with an option to extend a further year.
In July 2023, the one-year option was exercised.
The centre-half moved from A-League outfit Perth Glory in Australia, where he made his professional debut in November 2021 aged 18. Having played for the Under-23s squad for two years prior to making the step up to the senior squad, Coyne’s experience is impressive despite his tender years.
Coyne also comes from a great sporting family, being the son of Chris and grandson of John who are both former Socceroos.
His uncle Jamie also played football professionally, while his mother is a former youth international netballer.
