Under-18 | Watford 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

With the Hornets' regular Under-18 squad out in Japan, a very young Watford side secured an impressive 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday (March 18).

A team comprised of six Under-16s and four trialists - as well as goalkeeper Nathan Gartside - took the lead thanks to a 65th-minute penalty which was converted by one of those players on trial.

The visitors equalised with 10 minutes to go through George Hirst, who has appeared twice for the Owls' first-team this season, meaning that the points were shared after an even game at Watford's London Colney training ground.

David Horseman's Under-18s are next in action on Tuesday March 28, when they host Cardiff City.

HORNETS: Gartside (GK), Adedibiyi, Gordon, Tricker (c), Trialist, Maclean, Trialist, Phillips, Trialist (Luwero, 88), Trialist (Hutchinson, 75), Bennetts.
