Watford FC confirmed the permanent signing of former England international midfielder Jake Livermore in July 2023, following his departure from West Bromwich Albion.
Boasting a wealth of Premier League and Sky Bet Championship experience, Livermore penned a one-year deal at Vicarage Road, having trained with the Hornets during pre-season.
Born in Enfield, North London, he began his career at Tottenham Hotspur, and made his professional debut on loan at MK Dons in March 2008 as a second-half substitute against Chester City in League Two.
Similar temporary spells at Crewe Alexandra, Derby County and Peterborough United preceded his senior bow for Spurs, in a 2-1 victory over Stoke City in March 2010, after he had been recalled to the capital from London Road.
Livermore spent 2010/11 in the second-tier - first at Ipswich Town, and later with Leeds United - before establishing himself at White Hart Lane across the following two campaigns, making 56 appearances in all competitions and scoring once against Hearts in UEFA Europa League qualifying.
A productive loan spell at Hull City during 2013/14 yielded three goals in 36 Premier League games, while he made five FA Cup appearances en route to defeat against Arsenal in the Wembley showpiece before sealing a permanent switch to the Tigers during the close season.
After notching a total of nine goals in 144 outings for Hull, Livermore signed for top-flight rivals West Brom in January 2017, who he captained to promotion back to the Premier League in 2019/20 and went on to represent 216 times over six-and-a-half years.
Internationally, Livermore made his senior debut for the Three Lions in a 2-1 friendly win against Italy in August 2012, while he won the last of his seven caps during a goalless draw against Brazil in November 2017.
