Dan Gosling joined Watford FC in January 2021 on a free transfer from Bournemouth.
Born in Devon, the midfielder came through the ranks at Plymouth Argyle and impressed in 22 Championship appearances before Everton snapped him up as a 17-year-old.
Gosling scored six goals in 37 Toffees outings, including a memorable 118th-minute winner in an FA Cup tie against Liverpool which was voted the club's Goal of the Season in 2009.
In the summer of 2010 he swapped Merseyside for Tyneside, joining Newcastle United in the Premier League. Injuries and competition in midfield restricted Gosling to 36 outings and, after a loan spell at Blackpool, he joined Bournemouth in 2014.
Gosling's first season with the Cherries saw the central midfielder net five times in 24 appearances in all competitions and the club earned promotion to the Premier League alongside the Hornets.
He was a mainstay in Bournemouth's Premier League side and racked up 190 appearances across six-and-a-half seasons before making the switch to Hertfordshire.
Gosling was influential during Watford's surge into the Championship's top two positions in the second half of 2020/21. He made 13 appearances, scoring his first goal in a 4-1 win at Rotherham United and most notably netting the winner in a crucial victory at Norwich City, with the Hornets then securing promotion four days later.
The experienced midfielder scored against Chelsea in the final Premier League game of the 2021/22 season.
