Match report as Watford Ladies fall to a late defeat against Millwall on the final day of the Spring Series

Ladies | Watford 1-2 Millwall

Watford Ladies fell to a last-gasp defeat in the final match of the Spring Series in WSL2 on Saturday.

After a hard-fought first half ended goalless against Millwall Lionesses, the Golden Girls suffered a double setback midway through the second period.

First, the visitors took the lead when Billie Brooks headed in a free-kick and minutes later Watford midfielder Danielle Puddefoot was sent off for a second bookable offence.

With just under 15 minutes left Keith Boanas' side drew level thanks to a fine strike from Merrick Will and it looked like the season would end with a hard-earned point.

But the Hornets' hearts were broken in the 90th minute as Ashlee Hicks drove home a Millwall winner.
