Ladies: Ward On Track For Injury Return

Helen Ward is on track to make a return from injury and will be back in full training this week, according to Head Coach Armand Kavaja.

The Wales international striker missed Sunday's defeat to Cardiff with a calf problem picked up late last month, but she was running at nearly full speed before the game at Kings Langley and looks set to play some part in the National League soon.

“She has been training and doing bits and pieces,” said Kavaja. “We have to take care of her as we don't want it to happen again, but she's better and we are hoping she will be back next week.”

The Golden Girls badly missed Ward's ruthless streak in front of goal against the Bluebirds. Kavaja's team carved out chance after chance but just missed someone of Ward's nous and experience to tuck the ball away.

“We did miss her,” said Kavaja. “We just didn't have that composure in front of goal or make the right decision. Helen has that experience and could have got one or two goals. It's frustrating not to win, but we've got to look forward as we've got a good squad.”

Internationals: Lo-Everton Called Up For Scotland

Sonny Blu Lo-Everton has been called up to the Scotland Under-18 squad for an international tournament in Istanbul later this month.

The midfielder, widely praised by his teammates and coaches for his technical ability and quick feet, has appeared five times for his country’s Under-17 side.

Scotland are in a group with Angola, Cameroon and Paraguay for the Under-18 tournament, which will take place from September 20-27.

Lo-Everton scored a stunning winner in an FA Youth Cup victory for Watford last December.
