Tom Dele-Bashiru joined Watford on a six-year deal in the summer of 2019 after his contract expired at Manchester City.

The midfielder is Manchester-born and has represented both England and Nigeria at youth level, scoring for the Super Eagles at the Under-20 World Cup against Qatar in May 2019.

Dele-Bashiru’s Hornets debut came in an August 2019 Carabao Cup win against Coventry City, and his first goal for the club was in an FA Cup tie against Tranmere Rovers in January 2020.

He started the 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship campaign brightly before an October ACL injury ended his season early, while he enjoyed a successful loan spell with Reading in 2021/22, where he scored four goals in 39 appearances.

Back at Vicarage Road, injury once again hampered much of Dele-Bashiru’s 2022/23 campaign, as he made six appearances in the second-tier.
