Walter Mazzarri updates on the Watford squad ahead of Tuesday's Premier League clash with West Brom

Walter Mazzarri reported that both Troy Deeney and Sebastian Prödl trained at UCL Sports Ground in London Colney this morning and that the pair are firmly in contention to feature against West Bromwich Albion.

Deeney missed a week of training during the international break through sickness and was only deemed fit enough for a place on the bench against Sunderland.

The captain remained unused along with Prödl. The Austrian centre-half only managed to take part in a light session on Friday after returning from international duty with a calf problem so he was never really in contention to replace Younes Kaboul when the big defender came off injured.

"Deeney trained really well today," said the Head Coach.

"I hope to have Prodl back. He did train today and we'll do a stronger training tomorrow and hopefully he'll come through that."

The outlook is less positive for Kaboul who went off early against Sunderland with a hamstring problem.

"We need to assess him tomorrow," said Mazzarri. "I have a feeling it's going to be a long time, unfortunately."

Mazzarri added that Valon Behrami has an outside chance of featuring against Tottenham Hotspur but Christian Kabasele and Ben Watson, who are both back in light training, are not available for selection against the Baggies.
