Team News | Everton v Watford
Watford will again be without Miguel Britos and Craig Cathcart for the trip to Everton but José Holebas is back in contention for the game at Goodison Park.
Cathcart has not featured since the defeat at Tottenham Hotspur because of a knee problem while Britos has been out since limping off during the first-half of the game against Liverpool with a calf injury.
“Neither are available,” confirmed Head Coach Walter Mazzarri.
The news is more encouraging regarding Holebas, who missed the last two with a foot problem.
“He will travel with the team and we will see later if he will be on the bench or will play. We will decide everything tomorrow.”
One thing for certain is that Tom Cleverley will miss the game as he is ineligible to play against his parent club under the terms of the loan deal that brought him to Vicarage Road in January.
“He's been a very good player and we will miss him tomorrow but the positive is he will be fresh against Chelsea,” said the Head Coach.
The absence of Cleverley means Valon Behrami is in contention to start a game for the first time since Crystal Palace away in March and partner Abdoulaye Doucoure in the Hornets' midfield engine room.
“There is no competition in the case of Behrami and Doucoure as they are two players that can play together,” said Mazzarri.
“They have different characteristics.”
Younès Kaboul, Roberto Pereyra and Mauro Zárate remain long-term absentees.
“People tend to forget that we missed many starting players during the season,” added Mazzarri.
