Silva | “Big Character, Big Spirit & Big Personality”
Marco Silva felt Watford's third late goal of an embryonic season was testament to the spirit that's been fostered among this group of players, but the demanding Head Coach felt Watford could and should have been celebrating all three points.
The dramatic nature of Richarlison's stoppage time header meant the point felt like a win, yet Silva felt West Brom could not have grumbled had the Hornets, who were the more ambitious side throughout, chalked up a fourth successive away win.
"I don't think it's a great result," he said.
"We work to win every time. A draw is a good result after 2-0 down, but the way we played I think everyone in the stadium and everyone who watched on TV can see we deserved the result here."
Watford gave themselves a mountain to climb after conceding twice in the space of four three first-half minutes, but Silva felt Watford were the better side either side of the quickfire goals
"We started very well," he said.
"Some moments our play was too slow but we played our game. They [West Brom] like for the other team to make mistakes to score and that's what happened, but we reacted very well.
"In the last 20 minutes of the first-half we scored and could have had one or two more. We were in command of the match in the second-half.
"Sometimes they were defending with 10 men in the box. We should have scored before so we deserved to score at the end. It shows big character, big spirit and big personality that we believed until the end. We played with risks but everybody believed."
