Peñaranda Update: New Contract & Ready To Play!

Adalberto Peñaranda has committed his long-term future to the Hornets by signing a new five-year contract, Watford FC are pleased to confirm.

The 21-year-old attacker – whose new deal takes him up to 2023 – has also received all relevant work permit paperwork and is therefore eligible to feature in competitive match action.

Peñaranda arrived at Watford in February 2016 and the exciting Venezuela international has since spent time on loan with Granada, Udinese and Málaga.

After initially breaking through with Primera División outfit Deportivo La Guaira, he rose to prominence by beating Lionel Messi’s record as the youngest non-Spanish scorer of a brace in La Liga during the 2015/16 campaign.

Comfortable playing on the wing or as a striker, Peñaranda has made 13 international appearances for Venezuela and was a key part of the Under-20 side which finished World Cup runners-up in 2017.
