Official: New Deal For Doucouré
Watford FC are delighted to announce that Abdoulaye Doucouré has committed his future to the Hornets by signing a new five-year contract.
The midfielder, whose new deal takes him up to 2023, excelled in Watford’s midfield last season, scoring seven goals and winning the club’s prestigious Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards for 2017/18.
“I am delighted that Abdoulaye has shown his commitment to what we are trying to achieve by signing a new long-term contract with Watford Football Club,” said the Hornets’ Chairman & CEO Scott Duxbury.
“It has become perfectly clear that our ambitions as a club match Abdoulaye’s ambitions as a player, and we are looking forward to continuing to work together to reach our goals.”
Having made his name at Rennes, the former France Under-21 international moved to Watford in January 2016 and spent half-a-season on loan with Spanish outfit Granada before joining up with the Hornets ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The 25-year-old has made 62 appearances for the Hornets, scoring eight times.
