Official: Leganes Loan For Navarro

Marc Navarro will spend the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Spanish side CD Legańes.

A graduate from Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, the Spanish right-back joined The Golden Boys in June 2018 on a five year deal from RCD Espanyol, having made 36 appearances for the Periquitos.

However, an unfortunate injury sustained just after making his Premier League debut away at Arsenal and the form of Daryl Janmaat and Kiko Femenía meant Navarro was restricted to just five appearances last season.

Navarro will hope to gain valuable game time and help Leganés improve on a 13th-placed finish in La Liga last season.

Under-23s: Hornets To Play Home Games At Clarence Park

Watford Football Club is pleased to announce that the Hornets’ Under-23 side will play their home fixtures at Clarence Park – the home of St Albans City FC – this season.

The Golden Boys last played regularly at Clarence Park in the 2015/2016 season, so their new ‘home’ will not be unfamiliar to Hornets supporters.

On the partnership, Barry Quin, Watford FC Head of Academy Coach & Player Development, said: “We see this ground-sharing move for our Professional Development Squad matches as a very positive thing.

“The locality and facilities are great, and we are looking forward to working with St Albans for a mutually beneficial relationship.

“The relationship starts with the pre-season friendly tonight, so we will all be going along to use this opportunity to kick-off the venture.”

Tickets for the Hornets’ Under-23 games will be £3, with both Watford and St Albans City season-ticket holders gaining entry free of charge.

Watford's Under-18 team will also play any home FA Youth Cup ties at Clarence Park.

The Saints operate in the National League South, and beat Watford’s Under-18s at Clarence Park in the semi-final of the Herts Senior Challenge Cup last season.

“We are really excited about this partnership with Watford and the chance to see some of the Premier League’s stars of tomorrow is an outstanding opportunity,” said Lawrence Levy, the Chairman of St Albans City FC.

“Watford are the local Premier League club to ourselves, and with their training facilities in the district, it is very natural that we build a closer relationship.

“With one of our key strategic objectives being around developing talent locally, working with Watford’s Under-23s is an opportunity that both clubs can benefit from.”

This new relationship will start with a pre-season friendly at Clarence Park this evening (7.45pm KO), with ticket prices as below:

Adult £10
Concession £5
Under-16 £3
Under-12 Free with paying adult

Tickets can be purchased online here, or on the gate at Clarence Park.
