Official: Duo Depart & Gomes Discussions Ongoing

Ahead of the Premier League’s publication of all clubs’ retained lists, the Hornets can confirm that defenders Miguel Britos and Tommie Hoban will both leave Vicarage Road following the expiration of their contracts.

Uruguayan centre-half Britos made 74 appearances and scored twice after joining Watford from Napoli in the summer of 2015, ahead of the club’s first season back in the Premier League.

Thirty of Hoban's 58 Watford outings came during the 2014/15 promotion-winning season

Meanwhile Academy graduate and former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Hoban played 58 times, scoring twice, having made his Watford debut as a 17-year-old in May 2011.

Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is also out of contract at the end of the June, however the Hornets can confirm that discussions are ongoing about the best option for the Brazilian's future.

Gomes has played 156 times since joining Watford five years ago

Additional contract information relating to some of the Hornets’ Academy players was confirmed last month – click HERE for further details – while the new intake of first-year scholars will be announced in due course.

Watford FC thanks Miguel and Tommie for their contributions while at the club and wishes them both well for the future.
