October Player Of The Month - José Holebas!

Congratulations to José Holebas, who has officially been voted Watford's Player of the Month for October!

The former Greek international deservedly scoops the award after a series of impressive performances and finished with 45% of the vote, ahead of defender Sebastian Prödl on 34% and keeper Heurelho Gomes on 21%.

Holebas was an integral part of the backline which helped keep three consecutive clean sheets, and even turned match-winner with a spectacular strike in the Hornets' 1-0 away win over Middlesbrough.

Mooney | “I Couldn't Miss From There!”

Tommy Mooney will openly admit that he couldn't contain his excitement on the evening prior to playing at Anfield for the first time.

After two opening Premier League defeats, the Hornets travelled to Merseyside looking to claim their first points of the season.

What followed was a famous day for the Golden Boys, as Mooney struck the only goal of the game to earn a 1-0 win over the Reds.

Reflecting on that day, Mooney said: "What I remember about the day the most was the ground at the end!

"The Watford fans were delirious, but the Liverpool supporters were all on their feet clapping us, and the noise around the ground I remember more than the goal.

"I don’t really remember much about it – the ball fell to me and I just side-footed it in and even I couldn’t miss from there!"

Watch the video above to hear more from Mooney on that game, as well as getting his pre-match thoughts ahead of this Sunday's trip to Anfield.
