News: Premier League Equality Standard

Watford Football Club are delighted to announce that the Club have been recognised for our commitment to promoting equality and diversity by achieving Intermediate Level of the Premier League Equality Standard Assessment.

The Standard was revised by the Premier League in 2015 to replace, and build on, Kick it Out’s Equality Standard for Professional Football Clubs. It includes three levels of achievement: Preliminary, Intermediate and Advanced - reflecting current equality legislation and case law, and providing a framework to guide Premier League clubs towards achieving equality.

While the club is proud of its long-held reputation as a family club, reaching this target has been challenging as we looked to ensure that equality is ingrained into every department of the club, as well as on the pitch, and this award recognises the great strides taken since promotion to the Premier League. We remain fully committed to promoting inclusion and diversity within our stadium and have several plans in development for the new season, as the club starts working towards achieving the advanced level.

We’d like to place on record our thanks to all those supporters who have helped contribute to this success for their input throughout the process; whether they completed the surveys sent by the club or were happy to engage with us and help us promote inclusivity at Vicarage Road.

At Your Place: Forum Announced

Update 18/04/18

Thank you for your excellent response so far, applications for a place in the ballot are now closed, emails have been sent to all applicants this morning.

Following the successful ‘At Our Place’ forum held a few weeks ago, Watford FC are happy to announce that the next ‘At Your Place’ event, which offers the chance to discuss club matters with Scott Duxbury, CEO & Chairman, Head Coach Javi Gracia and/or first-team squad players and other senior club officials in an informal setting, will take place on Wednesday April 25 at Amersham Cricket Club

The event will start at 7pm. Capacity is limited and free spaces will be available by ballot, initially to those based in postcodes between HP5 - HP16, with priority given to supporters who’ve not attended one of these events before. We are also looking to ensure we have representation from all areas of the ground, so there will be an equal share of places available for each stand.

As ever with this event, the emphasis is on getting through as many questions as possible, so if you're intending to apply to come along, please make sure you're happy to take an active part in the evening. If you’d like to ask a question, but are not comfortable with asking it in public, then please feel free to include your question when applying for a space.

To secure your space, please email our Supporter Liaison Officer, Dave Messenger, at dave.messenger@watfordfc.com and ensure your message includes your name, Fan ID number, which stand you will represent, your home address postcode and a daytime contact phone number.

Supporters can apply for up to four places for friends and family, including themselves, and email confirmation will be sent back to you confirming your places. If your application arrives after all spaces have been filled, a reply will indicate that you've been placed on a reserve list.

This is one of three ‘At Your Place’ events taking place this month. The first takes place before this weekend’s match at Huddersfield for members of the Yorkshire & North East Hornets and the North West Hornets supporter groups. If you are based in either area and would like to attend, please contact Dave Messenger for details.

The second event is on Tuesday April 17 at the Glenn Social & Sports Club. This is being managed by Glenn officials, and is open to their club members only, given capacity constraints.

We will bring you the best of the snippets of information and pictures from each – but, as ‘At Your Place’ attendees will testify, there’s nothing like being there in person.
