Watford is a family club and I wanted to be part of it again and belong somewhere
Nathaniel Chalobah signed a five-year deal at Vicarage Road in July 2017 and joined for an undisclosed fee.
The midfielder played 97 times for England at various youth levels, and he was a key part of the Under-21s’ recent run to the semi-final of the European Championships.
The 22-year-old excelled during 42 appearances while on loan with the Hornets during the 2012/13 season, scoring five goals.
Since then he has spent temporary spells with Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading and Napoli, before returning to the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge last season.
He featured 15 times for Premier League champions Chelsea during 2016/17, making his first league start for the Blues against Watford at the back end of the campaign.
He made a positive start to the 2017/18 season – appearing in the Hornets' first five games before injury disrupted the rest of his campaign. He did return, however, making a short cameo appearance on the final day of the season against Manchester United.
