Hornets winger talks through his best players, matches and more in a quick-fire interview...

Best player you have played with?

“There are many. Can I name a few? So there is Sadio [Mané], Idrissa Gueye and [Kalidou] Koulibaly. These players have everything. I chose them because there you have the best defender, the best midfielder and the best forward I’ve played with.”

Best player you have played against?

“I’ve played against Mané and he is strong. But I have played against Neymar and I’d choose him because he is so strong in every aspect of the game, except he doesn’t defend.”

Best player you have seen live?

“Cristiano Ronaldo. I haven’t seen him play live, but I really want to. He’s the best in the world. He plays well, he scores goals that are like works of art.”

Best captain you’ve played under?

“All the captains I’ve played under are great. But I’d say Koulibaly. He speaks to all the players, builds a relationship and he always defends his player, which is very important.”

Best character in the dressing room?

“I’d say Capoue. He jokes around and plays pranks on people a lot, not just with the French speakers but with everyone.”

Best coach you have played under?

“I haven’t got one in particular. I’d say all my coaches. Our current coach was at Leicester at some point, he did well and is doing well now. When I was at Rennes, there was Sabri [Lamouchi] who was really good and the guy that replaced him [Julien Stephan]. And for the national team, Aliou Cisse, is brilliant. He is a nice guy off the pitch, but during games he doesn’t smile at all. He means business.”

Best friend in football?

“Frankly, I have two best friends in football, Mousa Wagué and [Cheikhou] Kouyaté. We speak a lot and we have played together. When we go on international duty, we are always together, we spend all our time together.”

Best atmosphere?

“There are a few memorable atmospheres at Watford. Watford v Liverpool and Watford v Tottenham were the best atmospheres. Lots of singing and noise during and after the match.”

Best game you watched as a fan?

“I used to follow Manchester United when I was young. So one of the best matches I watched was the Champions League final in 2008 where they beat Chelsea on penalties. It was a brilliant match.”
