Mason | “A Good Learning Curve To Push On”

It can certainly go down as an afternoon of mixed emotions for Brandon Mason, as the Hornets Academy graduate made his Premier League debut but was powerless to prevent Tottenham claiming a 4-1 victory at Vicarage Road.

The 19-year-old came on as a 68th minute substitute to become the 59th Watford Academy player to represent the first-team and delivered a highly composed and promising performance for Walter Mazzarri's side.

Speaking to watfordfc.com after the match, the attacking full-back was understandably delighted on a personal level with his afternoon's work.

"It’s not the result we wanted and we started quite slow in the game," he said.

"For me personally, I’m glad to get my debut and it’s a dream come true. I’m grateful to the manager for giving me the chance and I just want to kick on from here really.

'It's difficult because we’re a Premier League club so it’s not easy to get a chance, but all the hard work I’ve been putting in is finally paying off."
