Versatile winger Ken Sema joined Watford from Allsvenskan outfit Östersunds FK in July 2018.

Having come through the ranks at hometown club IFK Norrköping, Sema spent time with IF Sylvia and Ljungskile SK before arriving at Östersunds in 2016.

He racked up 84 appearances during two-and-a-half years with the Swedish top-flight side, including 13 in the Europa League, while he scored an impressive winning goal in a 2-1 victory at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in February 2018, and was part of the Östersunds side that lifted its first ever Svenska Cupen trophy in 2017.

Sema made his Hornets debut against Brighton in August 2018 and scored his first goal for the club in a 3-3 draw against Bournemouth in January 2019. He then spent the 2019/20 season on loan in Serie A with Udinese.

Returning to Vicarage Road for 2020/21, Sema contributed five goals and five assists from the left wing as the Golden Boys won promotion back to the Premier League, before he made 18 apperances during the 2021/22 top-flight campaign.

Back in the second-tier for 2022/23, Sema was one of Watford’s standout stars, notching five goals and eight assists in 40 league games.

A senior international, Sema was included in Sweden’s squad at Euro 2020, while he also represented his nation’s Under-23s at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
