Kabasele | “We Need To Be Ready”

You can watch the full interview with Kabasele above free, no sign-up required.

It hasn’t been a very merry Christmas so far for Christian Kabasele and Watford. After Saturday's defeat at Brighton , the Golden Boys are on a run of four straight defeats and five losses in their last six Premier League games, somewhat unwanted records during the busiest period of the season.

Kabasele and his teammates head into the Boxing Day clash with Leicester City knowing that three points would be the ideal Christmas present and the perfect way to put this run behind them.

The Hornets have won just twice at home this season and have failed to replicate their style of play on the road when at Vicarage Road, something the Belgian international is aware of.

“We have a good shape away and if we are able to have the same shape at home I think we are going to rise some places in the table,” he said, speaking before the Seagulls defeat.

“It’s important we try to play the same at home and away.”

Watford’s opponents, Leicester, were going through a tough spell themselves before replacing Craig Shakespeare with former Southampton boss Claude Puel. Since the Frenchman took the helm the Foxes have been in inspired form, losing just twice in his 10 league matches in charge.

Leicester are unbeaten on their travels since the end of August, with defeats at the Emirates and Old Trafford the only black marks on an otherwise impressive record this campaign, and Kabasele is fully aware of the challenge ahead.

“They changed their manager and since that they are doing a good job.

“It’s not only Leicester, it’s every game in the Premier League are difficult. We need to be ready to fight for each game in the Premier League.”
