International: Nine Hornets Called Up

Three more Watford players have been selected by their countries for the upcoming international break, taking the total number of Hornets representing their nations to nine.

Argentina have selected Roberto Pereyra for their friendly matches at home to Chile (Fri Sep 6) and Mexico (Wed Sep 11).

Elsewhere, Adrian Mariappa has been chosen by Jamaica for their CONCACAF Nations League matches against Antigua & Barbuda (Sat Sep 7) and Guyana (Tue Sep 10).

Pontus Dahlberg has been selected by Sweden Under-21s for their UEFA Euro U21 Qualifier match against Ireland (Tue Sep 10).

It was recently announced Craig Cathcart, Ben Wilmot, Domingos Quina, Andi Janjeva and Bosun Lawal also received international call-ups for this break (see below).

Craig Cathcart has been selected by Northern Ireland for their UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier matches at home to Luxembourg (Thu Sep 5) and Germany (Mon Sep 9).

Ben Wilmot, who is on loan at Swansea City, has received his first call-up by England Under-21s for their UEFA Euro U21 Qualifier matches away to Turkey (Fri Sep 6) and at home to Kosovo (Mon Sep 9).

In the same competition, Domingos Quina has also received his first call-up by Portugal Under-21s for their matches against Gibraltar (Thu Sep 5) and away to Belarus (Tue Sep 10).

In the Hornets' Academy, Lewis Gordon has been selected by Scotland Under-19s for a double-header against Japan (Thu Sept 5 & Mon Sep 9), Andi Janjeva will take part in a training camp with Kosovo Under-19s, and Bosun Lawal has been chosen by the Republic of Ireland Under-17s for two friendlies with Russia (Fri Sep 6 & Mon Sep 9).

Further international call-ups are likely to be confirmed over the coming days.

Official: Peñaranda Pens Loan Deal

Venezuela international Adalberto Peñaranda will spend the 2019/20 campaign in Belgium after agreeing a season-long loan move to KAS Eupen.

The 22-year-old forward has played three times for the Hornets, scoring his first Watford goal in last week's Carabao Cup win over Coventry.
