“I Know The Way He Works”
Hornets midfielder Valon Behrami is no stranger to the methods of Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri.
The Swiss international worked extensively with Mazzarri while in Serie A with Napoli, and after a difficult season in 2015/16, was reportedly persuaded to stay at Vicarage Road this summer by the Italian's arrival.
Nine games into the Premier League season, and Behrami admits the pair have an important relationship.
“This year for me it's a bit special,” he explained.
“I'm working together with Mazzarri, the best manager I had in my career so far.
“I'm a different player now, I have more experience, maybe less energy, and I'm happy every day because I know what the manager expects from me and I know the way he works.
“He gives us all the information that we need to know before the game, every player knows exactly what he has to do and the way he has to defend and every single detail, he loves to work on that.”
Behrami, a mainstay in Mazzarri's starting line-up in the Premier League, also said he was content with Watford's start to the campaign.
“I think we did well so far,” he nodded.
“We did what the club expected, nothing more, nothing less.
“We have to improve a lot in some moments, we didn't start very well, it was not easy but we could do a little bit more in some games at home especially.
“Away we have had some good results apart from Burnley, which was the lowest point so far.”
