Heurelho Gomes reflects on Saturday's 1-0 win over Swansea City

Gomes | “We Need To Keep Progressing”

Every point earned in the Premier League is an important one, but yesterday's three against Swansea took on an extra significance.

An Etienne Capoue goal in the first-half was enough for the Hornets to move on to the much discussed 40-point mark for the season, and all but secure the Golden Boys' top-flight status again for next year.

"I believe so, but we need to keep pushing," Gomes said when asked whether he felt his side were now safe from relegation.

"But we need to keep progressing as a team and as a club and that’s our mentality from now.

"Of course, when you take something from your shoulders, like I said to the boys after, you need to enjoy it but we also have a responsibility when we put this shirt on

"But we need to enjoy it more now because it's our time to get a few more points and finish as high as possible."
