Heurelho Gomes on Saturday evening's point against West Ham

Gomes | "The Point Was Fair"

Heurelho Gomes was in a pragmatic mood following Saturday’s 1-1 draw against West Ham United, acknowledging both the positives and the negatives in a close affair at The Vic.

Unsurprisingly, the Brazilian ‘keeper was pleased with the way Walter Mazzarri’s men started proceedings, but did admit a level frustration at their failure to build on Troy Deeney’s early strike in the second 45.

“I believe the point was fair,” he told watfordfc.com.

"I don’t think we played that well in the second-half. They were much better than us and we couldn’t keep the ball and that made things very difficult.

"Overall, we started the game very well but unfortunately we couldn’t hold on for the whole match. But overall I believe a point was the fair result."
