Femenía: “We Need To Keep Down To Earth”

Kiko Femenía notched an assist for the Hornets’ third goal against Huddersfield on Saturday, and the Spanish full-back insisted after the game that Watford need to keep up their level of performance week-in, week-out.
“I am happy for the victory,” said Femenía. “We were ready for this tough game.
“I believe that the team needs to keep going like this.”
Despite a frenetic start that saw Ben Foster called into action, making one smart save to deny Aaron Mooy, while Alex Pritchard curled one just over the Englishman’s bar, the Hornets responded well and took control of the game with two moments of high quality.
“It is true that Huddersfield started the game very well,” said the Spaniard. “The first 10 minutes were very hard for us.
“The [first] goal gave us the opportunity to play better, and we increased [our levels] during the game.”
Roberto Pereyra and Gerard Deulofeu showed their individual qualities with two solo-runs and finishes, but the third goal was all about teamwork, as Watford executed a set-piece move that saw Femenía square the ball for Isaac Success to gleefully tap home. It was straight off the training ground.
“It is true, we tried it over the week during training,” said Femenía. “We were lucky enough this week that it went into the net.
“I am very happy for everyone, for the team for the three points, for everything.”
It is probably testament to Javi Gracia that the players seem to echo the Head Coach’s sentiments about how far the Hornets can go this season - and it was no different with Femenía.
“We are working hard on the defensive way,” said the wing-back. “Everyone is responsible to defend the goal. We just need to keep going and work hard.
“The season is very long and we are doing well, but we need to keep down to earth, we need to keep playing [this way in] games and the target is going to be achievable.”
