Abdoulaye Doucoure provides an honest reflection on yesterday's Palace defeat

Doucoure | "We Need To Improve"

Abdoulaye Doucoure was left to state the obvious following yesterday's 1-0 defeat against struggling Crystal Palace.

Troy Deeney's 68th minute own goal was the difference between the sides at Selhurst Park and Doucoure warned his team-mates they need to improve prior to the visit of Sunderland which follows the international break.

"We are very disappointed about the result," he told watfordfc.com after the match.

"We had a very good first-half and pressed well and fought but one mistake in the second-half was the difference.

"We need to improve the result and we have to win against Sunderland. We have to play better and score and I think we have to try and win."
