Cathcart: “We Weren’t Clinical Enough”
Craig Cathcart felt that on another day Watford might have taken a valuable point from Selhurst Park, had they found that killer pass or finish in what ended a narrow 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
“The performance wasn’t too bad but we were not clinical enough with the final pass. There are things to work on but I think we deserved something from the game,” said the defender, speaking after full-time.
“The manager is frustrated. We were disappointed we weren’t level or ahead at half-time but we didn’t get the bounce of the ball at times.
“It’s disappointing as I feel we did enough to get a point, but it wasn’t to be. We have to pick ourselves up quickly.”
Nine games remain in the Hornets’ quest for Premier League survival and Cathcart believes the progress shown under Head Coach Nigel Pearson will see them to safety.
“We have shown what we can do and I’m sure the confidence we have taken from the manager since he came in will carry us through,” he said.
“We are all focused on the job. We just focus on ourselves, not anyone else.”
