FLORES: “An Amazing Incorporation For Our Future”
THE FUTURE looks very bright for the Hornets, that's the view of Quique Sanchez Flores after the signing of two key targets during yesterday's transfer deadline day.
Abdoulaye Doucoure and Adalberto Penaranda both penned permanent deals with Watford, and will be fully integrated into the squad in the future following more immediate loan spells in La Liga with Granada.
The Hornets' Head Coach believes the capture of two young players with immense potential sends out exactly the right message about the club's long-term vision.
"It's an amazing incorporation for our future. This is part of the target of our club, to bid for younger players with quality, with ambition, with passion for this sport," Flores told watfordfc.com.
"Penaranda and Doucoure - we have followed both of these players for a long time and they have the capacities and qualities to play at Watford in the future. We are completely happy with these signings and we will follow them for the rest of the season.
"For sure, Watford fans should be very happy because in the future we will have a couple of very good players come and join with us.
"We studied these players since the last summer so we know perfectly well what their qualities are. They are young, ambitious, good players, and I think they have everything we will need to improve our team."
Onto more immediate matters, Chelsea are visitors to The Vic on Wednesday evening (7.45pm KO) and Flores says his Hornets will approach the game in confident mood, after two wins on the bounce in league and cup.
"We have recuperated good feelings in the last two matches so for us it is very important to keep going in the idea to be positive, and we are confident to keep our form going into the next match," he said.
"It's not too long since we played with Chelsea the last time, but in this period they have reacted.
"They are playing well, but we are also in the same condition, recuperating good feelings to keep a good position in the league, so I think for sure it will be a very tough match."
