OFFICIAL: Hornets Decide Loan Best For Peñaranda Development

Watford teenage starlet Adalberto Peñaranda will continue his development with a loan at Italy Serie A club Udinese.

The Hornets believe the highly-rated 19-year-old’s progress is best served in the immediate future with regular first-team football.

Peñaranda, who signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Watford earlier this year, has recently returned from international duty with Venezuela at the Copa America.

He played 23 times in La Liga while at Granada last season, scoring five goals, and beat Lionel Messi’s record in December as the youngest non-Spanish scorer of a brace in the Spanish top-tier.

Peñaranda first broke through in his native Venezuela at Deportivo La Guaira, where he featured nearly 40 times.

Official | Hornets Sign Jose Holebas

WATFORD FC is delighted to announce the signing of experienced defender Jose Holebas from Italy Serie A 2014/15 runners-up AS Roma.

The Greece international has penned a three-year contract with the Hornets and will join up straight away with Quique Sanchez Flores' squad.

On the international stage, the 31-year-old has made 27 appearances for his country - including four as they reached the quarter-finals of the 2012 European Championships in Poland & Ukraine.

Holebas has a wealth of top-level domestic experience and European pedigree as well with 23 Champions League appearances to his name across his time in Italy, following a hugely successful four-year spell with Greek giants Olympiakos.

The left-sided operator rose through the ranks at TSV 1860 Munich after starting out at German national league side Viktoria Kahl.
