Holebas | “I’m Happy To Be Here”

JOSE HOLEBAS arrives at Vicarage Road with a bagful of experience, something he believes will benefit his new club.

The 31-year-old signed for Watford from AS Roma, and believes the experience he already has against English teams will help prepare him for the challenges the Premier League will pose.

“It is a tough league. I’ve played twice against Arsenal and also against Manchester City in the Champions League, so big teams in England, and it was really tough,” he exclusively told watfordfc.com.

“But I feel as though I understand better how they play now.”

Holebas is a Greece international and has also played in the Champions League with Roma and Olympiakos, and he believes he can use this to help the club on the pitch, as well as the younger players off it.

“I have some experience and there are some young guys here, so I think I can help them with my experience,” he said.

“The first thing we need to do is stay in the Premier League next season. That is the main thing.”

Holebas has been with the Watford squad for a couple of weeks now, and he is pleased with how things have been going so far.

“I’m happy to be here and we are working hard. That is what we have to do in pre-season," he said.

“Everybody knows we are a little bit of a smaller club so we have to work on our fighting spirit and team spirit and the rest will come later.”
