OFFICIAL: José Manuel Jurado Joins The Hornets

ATTACKING midfielder José Manuel Jurado has completed a permanent move to Watford from Spartak Moscow.

The Spaniard has signed a three-year contract with the Hornets ahead of their 2015/16 Premier League campaign.

A product of Real Madrid’s youth setup, the 29-year-old made a handful of appearances for Los Blancos before moving to near neighbours Atletico Madrid in 2006.

Jurado played 115 times for Atletico, including 64 outings and nine goals in 2009/10 as the side managed by current Watford Head Coach Quique Sanchez Flores stormed to Europa League glory and a runners-up spot in the Copa del Rey.

The playmaker signed for Bundesliga side Schalke 04 in 2010 and went on to appear in the Champions League and the Europa League. He also performed in both the DFB Pokal and Super Cup finals, scoring in the former as part of a 5-0 win over MSV Duisburg in 2011.

After 72 games and nine goals for Schalke 04, Jurado was loaned to Spartak Moscow in September 2012, a move which was later made permanent. He played 77 times for the Russian outfit, scoring 14 goals.
