Women: Stobbs Joins Golden Girls

Watford FC Women are delighted to confirm the signing of Amber-Keegan Stobbs.

The experienced attacker joins the Golden Girls after leaving fellow Championship side Crystal Palace.

Stobbs made 17 appearances for the Eagles last season and is relishing the prospect of joining the Hornets.

“It’s a really exciting time for the club,” she said. “As soon as I spoke to Watford, deep down I knew it was where I was going to be, it was just a case of getting things in place and having the conversations.

“To be honest, as soon as I spoke to Clinton [Lancaster] I was like, ‘This is where I want to be’.”

The playmaker adds valuable experience to the newly-promoted squad, having played at Reading, Everton, West Ham and Charlton before joining Crystal Palace.

Stobbs is keen to make her presence felt ahead of the new season with the Golden Girls.

“What I do like about Watford is I always think there’s a real togetherness already. I’ve seen that over the years as an outsider, so that will take us far,” she said.

“It’s about getting the right people in and being the right team through pre-season and hitting the ground running when we are in the league.”

Welcome to Watford, Amber!
