Women: León Signs On!

The Golden Girls are pleased to confirm the signing of Dominican Republic international defender Lucía León.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Real Betis right-back returns to England following her departure from the Andalusian outfit, boasting two years of experience in Spain’s top tier.

Starting her career in her home city at Madrid CFF before moving to North London aged 16, León was part of a Spurs side that climbed from National League level to the top of the women’s game, scoring their first-ever Super League goal against Arsenal in 2020.

Heading back to Madrid CFF on loan in 2021, the former Spain youth international played 15 times before a permanent move to Betis, having made 42 appearances for Tottenham.

A hard-working and technical full-back keen to join the attack, León joined the group early in pre-season and has featured in friendlies for the Hornets, joining up with her national team over the summer for two games against Puerto Rico also.

Welcome to Watford, Lucía!
