Women: Henson Returns!

By: Watford FC Staff

Watford FC Women are pleased to confirm the return of defender Corinne Henson, following her departure from fellow Barclays Women’s Championship side Charlton Athletic.

Operating in a range of positions in her first Watford spell in 2021/22, Henson has moved from the wing to a more defensive role since leaving last summer, slotting in at centre-back so far in pre-season.

Henson, 19, began her career at Arsenal before a dual-sign move to the Golden Girls, making 22 appearances in yellow.

The US and UK dual-national signed her first professional contract with Charlton and played an important part in their fourth-place finish, also netting a Goal of the Month-nominated effort against London City Lionesses last August.

Damon Lathrope’s 10th summer signing, Henson joins fellow new arrivals Harley Bennett and Katie Reid in a defensive department that also includes Anne Meiwald, Megan Chandler, Kalani Peart and Lois Edwards.

Welcome back, Corinne!
